Lets forget the new progressive mantra and get back to Martin Luther Kings adage of judge a man by the content of his character not the colour of his skin.

Unfortunately that's not the reality of the country we live in. Power lies with those able to force their influence and power over others. The world is seen in Black and White and if your not of European decent get in the Que with Blacks.

Example of power: Remember signs posted and laws made Whites Only? Can you name any other race that has done that? Power is about looking after your own at everyone else expense. Those in power aren't going to relinquish it.

We need more racial diversity in parliament full stop. This isn't going to happen with the face of government being white and parties charged with pre-selection of candidates. The party decides who runs in voting districts leaving voters with no choice, no say.

Capitalism like any other government system is based on Class! No aspires to be poor and reduced to the lower class, unfortunately Capitalism developed from a feudal system pyramid, ranging from the have nots, working class poor through to the wealthy.

Countries can exist without governments but they can't exist without business and the commerce that they generate. National borders were created to maintain and keep work forces in place. The planet wasn't invaded and colonised by passport holding explorers! The wealthy initially gain their wealth off the backs of slave labour. To maintain that wealth after slavery was meant to be abolished, it required a low under paid work force. The government became the tax collectors, charged with maintaining that work force. Strong armies, air forces, navies are required to protect what is there's and to continue take what is needed in the way of resources from other countries.

It's consumerism and promoters/advertisers telling us that we have no self worth and can't break class restrains if we don't keep up with and purchase there updated material wares. Capitalism and Materialism works together hand in hand. Once you move beyond the necessities of life; food, shelter, clothing ambition leads to greed.

Our self esteems suffers when those around us is thought to have more and better off that we are. We get very upset when a migrant comes and it appears they are doing better than us being new arrivals.

General Discussion / It's time for a mature and apolitical welfare debate

On the topic of Newstart:

How did the Newstart Allowance as it's called, become a rite of passage for those turning 16-18 usually straight after leaving school and never held a job? This is insane it helps create a culture of, " I don't need to look for and take a job that I don't want or like." It is meant to be a "safety net" for when a person is made redundant or dismissed from a job in the interim of finding new employment.

Newstart Allowance isn't enough to live off of, it won't even cover rent not to mention any other living expenses require to re-enter the workforce; food, utilities, transportation IF not living with parents. Then you have those above teenage years on Newstart not yet 67 or 70 years of age able to collect the pension and their super. Why would government deny a pension increase to the seniors who have already worked most of their lives from the money saved by not giving Newstart to those that never even held a job?

Interesting how media who once said Trump couldn't possibly win the election and when he did keeps Trump under daily scrutiny. Is Trump presidency any rational than the Bush's presidencies?

You have the matter of Bush leading Australia and The UK into a war base on a lie that Iraq had WMD. He did lie, was that an impeachable offence, was it a war crime or merely written off as the results of poor intelligence? Why is any American president not fully scrutinised as the self anointed defender of the free world?

One thing for sure those that don't like Trump's extreme vetting and immigration policies are waiting for an impeachment with baited breathe! That doesn't mean linking Muslims with Terrorism will cease in America or the West!

The mantle wasn't the US or West to pass, when both used China for cheap labour at the expense of their own citizens to achieve higher profits. China at it's leisure and selective scrutinising process took on board Western innovation and business practices to lift some not all citizens "slowly"out of poverty under its own political system. China takes what it feels are good practices that benefits it's country and people Without the need of forced assimilation with countries they trade with, Without the need to invade and colonise other countries or use religious theologies!

The point being missed, we DO have different races living in Australia that are Australians. Yet those from ethnic backgrounds Only seem to receive negative attention in press or TV media and usually connecting them to crime or terrorist.

How many times do we hear the country is multiracial/multicultural yet outside of ABC/SBS different races are Rarely seen? This and situations on public transport won't stop or at least fall in number until diverse races are seen as Australians and not guest in our country.

General Discussion / If Trump fired Comey over Russia, he must go

Rather strange for an Australian journalist calling for the head of another country's head of government. Why are we so obsessed with what Trump and the Americans do? It's a problem for the Americans to work out and settle, it has nothing to do with us. Well, at least not until we are asked to back the US in wars not of our own making. Since when did global politics become a spectators sport.

If Australians can't handle negative comments about made about us and our leaders, we should keep our nose out of others business. We seem to dish our opinions out about other countries and get our nose bent out of shape when we become the topic of discussion and it's not to praise us but putting us down.

I say good on China and a smart move!

Some think of China as the enemy only because the government tells them to. When it comes to Human Rights no country is perfect and we can feel we are better because we have more rights that their people do. After all, rather than be told go back where you came from, millions are contented to stay within China.

When the Western Alliance headed by the US and Australia as it's deputy tell us China is threat to build up our defence forces in the Asian Pacific because out fear China "may" want to control the straits and ocean trade route off it's shore. Yet we do trade with them and call on China's help to go against their own in regards to North Korea. This is something the WEST would never do, go against another even when they do something wrong.

China is smart to know to cut the rhetoric surrounding ocean disputes, to open negotiations for land routes that would benefit China and others by default. As far as trade and the global economy, China is where Japan was in trade before them when the WEST used them for cheap labour.

Like it or not the Asian EAST has the largest population, workforce and cheap labour. That's what the West is really afraid of, not a military disadvantage but a economic one.

The new plan for Australian Citizenship is a path to create a two tier Citizenship. The first tier being those who by default of their parents who are born here and the second those who are Naturalised. What is the difference you might ask?

The government is not mentioning to either tier that article 25 of the Australian constitution gives the government the reserved power to deny anyone who is non-white the right to vote. This right gives individuals with numbers to change laws or make new ones. A permanent resident is entitled to everything a citizen is, including access to welfare payments, they can't vote

Next it's those on the second tier of citizenship [that didn't do any criminal act as a resident but waits to become a citizen] that can be deported. The government isn't telling migrants what Would revoke their citizenship and give cause to deport them.

It isn't telling them should Australia war with their homeland, they could find their self and families forcefully place in internment camps, in this case even if they were born here! Some Japanese Australians have already experienced this.

I say these Australian Values we hear about didn't come a racial diverse think tank, it divides Australia into WE and THEM.

For that reason, I don't support it! Like everything else you and I weren't consulted or asked.
